- What is your role at Confex and how long have you worked here?
I am the Events Co-ordinator and have worked at Confex 8 years this year (2018).
- What did you do before joining Confex?
I worked as PA to Director at The British Valve & Actuator Association for 5 years. BVAA represent interests in over 170 British companies. BVAA member companies employ more than 9,000 personnel directly in manufacturing and an equal number in support industries.
- What do you do when you’re not at Confex?
I enjoy walking and keeping my little garden tidy, shopping and I also cycle but I am not very fast! I like to visit National Trust properties as I am a Member. My favourite to date was Agatha Christies holiday home in Devon and the strangest was Snowshill Manor in Gloucestershire.
- If you were able to retire tomorrow, how would you spend your time?
Take a long holiday/travel.
- Who inspires you?
I would say my mum and sister as they are both confident and always strive to build my confidence in areas where I struggle, without their support I wouldn’t be where I am now!
- What type of business would you go into, if it wasn’t wholesale?
Looking after animals, one of my favourite places would be Monkey World who assists governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates from the wild.At the Centre refugees of this illegal trade as well as those that have suffered abuse or neglect are rehabilitated into natural living groups.
- What is the most interesting place you have visited and why?
To date would be Midna in Malta the history of Mdina traces back more than 4000 years. According to tradition it was here that in 60 A.D. that the Apostle St. Paul is said to have lived after being shipwrecked on the Islands. Furthermore it is said that St. Paul resided inside the grotto know as Fuori le Mura (outside the city walls) now known as St. Paul's Grotto in Rabat. Lamp lit by night and referred to as "the silent city".
