- How long have you worked at Confex?
I will have worked at Confex a whole decade come December 2014. During this time there has been impressive growth in all areas as Confex has flexed its muscles.
- What were you doing before joining
Prior to joining Confex I lived in Surrey and worked as a freelance graphic designer. I moved into Marketing Communications when I joined a global transportation company and following my move to Oxfordshire I joined Confex in the marketing department. After taking marketing qualifications I moved into my current position as Marketing Manager in 2006.
- Tell us something different about
your life outside of Confex?
I love being outdoors. Woody, my Cocker Spaniel, and I have explored the wolds from Morton-in-the-Mud in the east, to the lush pastures in the west of the Cotswold countryside. I have completed the South West Coast Path (635 miles) and am currently taking 2 weeks each year to hike the GR5 (international route that crosses the Alps from Lake Geneva to the Med). Competitive tennis, yoga and gardening in between keep me fit.
- Who are your role models and why?
My role models are everyday people, including a number of my friends who, under challenging situations, keep soldiering on without complaint and always with a grin.
- How do you like to spend any spare time you may have?
A perfect day would either be pottering in the garden on a warm summerís day or hiking across some mountain range with stunning views.
- What is the most interesting place you have visited and why?
Seeing Khartoum and visiting the numerous Egyptian temples and tombs was fascinating and brought to life the culture of the Egyptian people. We took the children for a great introduction to the history of civilisation.
- Tell us an ambition you have achieved and
one you have yet to fulfil?
As an independent person, I have always strived to be self-supporting and believe I have achieved this goal. I love to travel and hope to tick a few more boxes on the expanding Bucket List.
- What do you like about working at Confex?
Confex has a great flexible work ethic which allows its staff to take initiative and use their abilities, to mutual benefit, I guess that is why I am still here.
